About

Hey! I’m so glad you’re here.

Over the last few years, I’ve been listening more to the women in my life, my own heart, and women I’ve met along the way. We’re all craving the same things—a community who loves us, women who will pour their wisdom into us, and the courage to believe in ourselves and pursue our passions.

I feel the same way. God helped me finally believe in His truth and myself. So here I am—writing this blog, reaching out to other women, and sharing His truth.

I want the same thing for you!

Deep inside you have dreams too. I’m here to encourage you as you begin your journey to discover your passions.

What to expect here

This is a blog for women who want to want to do great things, but mind themselves on the fringe and don’t quite fit in.  You love God, but have lots of questions about faith and how to live it out. Sometimes you question whether he made a mistake or can really use you. I’m here to help you discover who you are in Christ and the purpose in your faith.

You will find encouragement to discover your identity, embrace your gifts and passions, ask questions , and a friend who understands.

The things that keep me sane

  1. My husband! We got married when I was only 19 and like to say we grew up together. For real though, I don’t know anything else and I love it.
  2. My 3 kiddos. We have 2 daughters and a son—a beef cattle farmer, a babysitter, and a future diesel mechanic. If you need a cow, a break, or a tire changed, we have a kid for you.
  3. Our quiet farm. Living on a farm fills all my introvert needs. The only thing better would be if our farm backed up against a beach.
  4. My friends. These women are full of sass and laughter. They’ve seen me at my worst and still keep me in the text thread. I don’t think I would’ve made it this far through motherhood without them.

Because you might be wondering

Although I love writing, it wasn’t my first, second, or third career. Getting here has been a crazy journey. I started as a commercial loan officer, then farmed with my dad for a couple years, and finally partnered in the battery business with my husband. Amazingly enough, all those jobs taught me very valuable skills that I’m still using today.

Everything started to change when I visited Guatemala for the first time in 2011. The people I met and the beauty of the country wouldn’t let go. Since then, I became the Staff Writer for Forever Changed International, started leading missions teams annually, and completed seminary with a degree in global ministry.

Now, I balance helping my husband with our businesses as well as pursuing my passion—writing for mamas and teaching others how to incorporate missions into their lives.
